City Solicits Community Input on Draft Transportation Plan

KETCHUM, Idaho – The city of Ketchum is seeking public input regarding the draft Master Transportation Plan; a long-term planning document supporting the city’s Comprehensive Plan. The community should identify transportation needs that were not addressed in the plan, and comments and suggestions on the proposed projects.

The community is invited to review the draft Master Transportation Plan and summary at www.ketchumidaho.org/projects and provide comments to participate@ketchumidaho.org. Comments will be accepted through February 5.

The goal of the plan is to provide safe and efficient travel on Ketchum’s transportation system now and in the future, including all modes of travel. The transportation system should serve a wide variety of users and offer alternatives for residents, visitors, and the workforce to travel safely and easily to their destination.

The plan will assist Ketchum policymakers and staff in making sound decisions for the city transportation system to promote a greater quality of life and provide a guide for future development.

Feedback from the community will be provided to City Council prior to formal adoption of the plan. Next steps would include the development of five-year financial implementation scenarios to incorporate in the city’s Capital Improvement Plan.

Upon adoption of the final Capital Improvement plan, future opportunities will be available for the community to comment on specific projects.

Community input will play a vital role in making improvements and recommendations regarding transportation options and solutions for mobility management in Ketchum.
