International Codes

Pursuant to Idaho Code and Applicable State Regulations: In accordance with the authority granted under Idaho Code Title 39, Chapter 41 (Idaho Building Code Act) and pursuant to the rules adopted by the Idaho Building Code Board, the City of Ketchum hereby adopts by reference the following model codes, as amended by the State of Idaho and further amended by the City of Ketchum:

  • 2018 International Building Code (IBC): As amended by the Idaho Building Code Board, Including Appendix O
  • 2018 International Residential Code (IRC): As amended by the Idaho Building Code Board, Including Parts I–III and IX, Including Appendix F – Radon Control Methods
  • 2018 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC): As amended by the Idaho Building Code Board
  • 2018 International Existing Building Code (IEBC): As amended by the Idaho Building Code Board
  • 2018 International Swimming Pool and Spa Code (ISPSC): As adopted by the State and City without amendment
  • 2018 International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC): As adopted by the City of Ketchum
  • 2018 International Fire Code (IFC): Including Appendix Chapters B, C, D, E, and F, As adopted and enforced by the City Fire Department

 

Accessibility Standards

In conjunction with the adoption of the International Building Code, the City of Ketchum requires compliance with the accessibility provisions referenced therein, specifically the ICC A117.1 – Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities standard.

  • The edition used is the one referenced in the adopted version of the IBC.
  • This standard governs the design and construction of accessible routes, elements, and spaces to ensure usability by individuals with disabilities.

Applicants must incorporate accessibility features consistent with ICC A117.1 as part of their construction documents and code compliance reviews.

 

Modular Buildings/Structures

Modular buildings and structures are regulated by the State of Idaho Division of Building Safety (DBS) in accordance with Idaho Administrative Procedures. Additional information is available at:
