Water

  • Tiered Water Rates - The less water you use, the lower the rate you pay! Ketchum has tiered water rates as an incentive to conserve water across the community.
    • 0-8K gallons per month is $0.87/1000 gallons
    • 8-65K gallons per month is $1.74/1000 gallons
    • 65-120K gallons per month is $3.50/1000 gallons
    • 120K gallons per month is $5.26/1000 gallons
  • Indoor Water Use - The City of Ketchum is implementing efforts to conserve water to respect our high desert climate and protect our aquifers.  A first step is to upgrade plumbing fixtures in all municipal facilities to low-flow models such as dual-flush toilets and 0.5 gpm (gallons per minute) lavatory faucets.
  • Landscaping and Irrigation - City code 13.08.130 prohibits landscape watering between the hours of 10:00 am and 5:00 pm from June 15 through September 1.
    • Exceptions may be granted (upon written request) for water customers using drip or bubbler style irrigation systems or watering new plantings.

Waste

  • Reduce - Join the City in reducing the amount of single use plastic you use!
  • Reuse - Reuse plastic and glass containers.
  • Recycle - Know the recycling options because contamination is the main reason recycling is sent to the landfill.
  • Repurpose – Be creative and consider what old items could be repurposed into new ones such as an old door used to make a “new” table.
