Call for Artists for 17th Annual Art on Fourth Exhibition

KETCHUM, Idaho – The city of Ketchum Arts Commission has released a Call for Artists, inviting sculptors to showcase their work for the 17th Annual “Art on Fourth” outdoor sculpture exhibition. The selected artwork will be featured in the heart of downtown Ketchum at Town Square and on the Fourth Street Heritage Corridor; a pedestrian-friendly street with widened sidewalks, benches, and designated sites for artwork.

Selected artists will receive a $3,500 stipend. There is no fee to apply. The deadline for submissions is May 13, 2024.

In its seventeenth year, the Art on Fourth exhibition has evolved into a significant attraction during the city’s summer tourist season. Artwork on display has featured diverse artists, ranging from local to nationally renowned. Past exhibitors include Steve Jensen, Rod Kagan, Robert Kantor, Gwynn Murrill, Will Robinson, Boaz Vaadia, and Rudi Broschofsky, among others. The exhibition is organized and curated by the Ketchum Arts Commission, whose mission is to integrate arts and culture into the community’s life.

Artists may enter as many sculptures as they would like for consideration. The call is open to all artists, regardless of their state of residence.

About Ketchum Arts Commission

The Ketchum Arts Commission (KAC) was created by the City of Ketchum in 2007 with the objective of integrating arts and culture into the community's life. Among its initiatives are Cover Art, the wrapping of utility boxes in downtown Ketchum; Art on Fourth; Street Art, which features manhole covers designed by local artists; and the development of policies and plans for public art in the community. At the KAC’s initiative, the city recently increased its Percent for Art Ordinance for public projects from 1.33 percent to 5 percent, which is believed to be higher than any other city in the country. The KAC is a division of the Ketchum Parks & Recreation Department and receives support from the Ketchum Community Development Corporation. The commission consists of local volunteers who are active in, and passionate about, the arts.
