Ketchum Streets to Receive Preventive Maintenance June 15–19
The city of Ketchum will conduct pavement preservation work on select roadways during the week of June 15–19, 2026, as part of its annual maintenance program. Work will occur in two steps on the same streets, beginning with chip sealing followed immediately by fog sealing.
Chip sealing is expected to begin on June 15, weather permitting. Fog sealing will follow immediately after chip seal operations are completed. Both treatments are scheduled to occur within the same week. Timing may shift due to weather, and the city will provide updates if changes occur.
“These treatments help preserve our streets, improve safety and make the most of taxpayer resources by preventing more costly repairs in the future,” said Pete Prekeges, Mayor of Ketchum. “We appreciate the community’s patience as this important work is completed.”
Residents must move vehicles by 6 a.m. Officials recommend relocating vehicles the night before to avoid disruptions. Vehicles left on the street after 6 a.m. may be towed at the owner’s expense. Residents with rental properties are asked to notify tenants in advance.
About the project
Chip and fog seal treatments are preventive maintenance methods designed to extend the life of pavement and improve roadway conditions. Benefits include improved safety and ride quality for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians; extended pavement life and reduced long-term repair costs; and protection from weather, water infiltration and surface wear.
