Ketchum Announces Commission Updates Focused on Cultural Programming

The City of Ketchum is announcing the creation of a new Arts and Heritage Commission, expanding the City’s cultural programming and community engagement efforts. The new commission will replace the current Arts Commission and will combine arts, heritage, and historic programming activities under one body through initiatives such as public installations, performances, classes and workshops, pop-up exhibits, and other community events.  Community members interested in serving on the commission are invited to apply.

WHEN:
Application deadline: June 4, 2026

WHERE:
Letters of Intent (LOI) should be submitted via email to: participate@ketchumidaho.org

WHO:
Community members interested in arts, culture, history, and heritage programming.

The restructuring is intended to broaden cultural offerings, improve operational efficiency, streamline staff support, and strengthen opportunities for community engagement through arts, heritage, and historical programming.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The Historic Preservation Commission will continue to operate separately and will retain its role overseeing land use matters related to historic preservation, including designation of historic properties and review of alteration or demolition requests. However, the Arts and Heritage Commission will assume historic programming responsibilities from them. Arts and Heritage Commissioners will be recommended by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council in June. The first Arts and Heritage Commission meeting is planned for June 18 at 5 p.m.
