Help Keep The Gondola Bus Stop Clean And Celebrate Its New Look
Historic photos were installed on the bus stop in early February; now the city asks the public to help keep the repurposed gondola clean.
Ketchum, Idaho – The City of Ketchum has received positive community feedback regarding the ski gondola bus stop placed on the west side of Main Street near the 5th Street intersection. Installed by the city during the Main Street rebuild project and serviced by Mountain Rides, the bus stop provides lighting, on-demand heated seats, and operable doors to help protect bus riders from the elements. It’s also intended to pay homage to Ketchum’s culture and history. The shelter just received a new look with historic photos applied to exterior. The current display is temporary, as the Ketchum Arts Commission is currently seeking artists who wish to submit artwork to be applied more permanently to the structure. The application deadline for the more permanent art installation is February 12, 2026, but submissions will be accepted post deadline.
Also expressed by the public are concerns that some community members are littering in or vandalizing the shelter. The stop is serviced frequently, but these occurrences have been recurrent enough to create a poor experience for other users. Please do your part to keep the structure clean and operable for everyone’s enjoyment. Pick up and throw away your garbage and please report misuse or inappropriate behavior to the City of Ketchum at 208.726.3841 or participate@ketchumidaho.org.
