City Of Ketchum Seeks Local Artists To Reimagine Main Street Utility Boxes

Utility Boxes on Main Street

Artists are invited to apply for a unique opportunity to create custom designs to be installed on new Main Street utility boxes.

The City of Ketchum is calling on artists to help breathe life into downtown streetscape infrastructure by creating custom designs for six newly installed utility boxes located at three high-visibility Main Street intersections: 1st Street, Sun Valley Road, and 5th Street. The goal is to transform these standard functional structures that were placed as part of the Main Street reconstruction project into colorful visual features that reflect Ketchum’s character.

Submissions will be reviewed and selected by the Ketchum Arts Commission. Selected designs will be reproduced as high-quality, vehicle-wrap-grade vinyl graphics with a protective finish and installed on the boxes to be on display for up to 10 years. Artists may submit up to six different designs for consideration.

Important dates:

  • Application deadline: February 12, 2026 (note: applications received after this date will be considered)
  • Artist selection: February 23, 2026
  • Installation: Spring 2026

Interested artists can review the full guidelines and submit their proposals at ketchumidaho.org/administration/page/bids-and-requests-proposals
