City of Ketchum Sponsors Free Flamenco Dance & Classical Guitar Performance

Boise-based Cuadro Nuevo, brings their work to Ketchum Town Square Saturday, July 17

The Ketchum Arts Commission hosts Boise-based flamenco dance company, Cuadro Nuevo on Saturday, July 17, at 6:00 p.m. in Ketchum Town Square.
 
Cuadro Nuevo is a performing group who draws inspiration from classical guitar, contemporary dance/art performance, cultural music and Flamenco. They focus on performing new and traditional works representing the artists that comprise the group.  Cuadro Nuevo comes from varying backgrounds, including classical, cultural and experimental music, numerous dance forms, visual art and poetry. 

Kelli Brown, founder of Off Center Dance (OCD), is the Artistic Director for Flamenco Idaho. She is also an adjunct professor at Boise State University and dance educator at Idaho Arts Charter School.

Brown has choreographed over 30 modern dance works and 5 short dance videos and is the recipient of many grants and awards, including Idaho Dance Education Organization Dance Educator of the year. She was trained by her maestra Julianna Thomas and has completed additional training with some of the following flamenco artists: Belen Maya, Emilio Ochando, Rina Orellana, Adriana Maresma Fois, Jesus Carmona, Lakshmi Basile, Javier Martos, Raimundo Benitez, Laura Onizuka, Eve Salonen and many more!

Brown will provide a free instructional class for all ages prior to the performance, from 6 to 630 p.m. Entry for the performance and dance lesson is free.
