Celebrate the Spirit of Ketchum

KETCHUM, IDAHO – The City of Ketchum invites residents and visitors to the Ketchum Rail Jam. This is a free event taking place on Saturday, Mar. 14, from 4 to 7 p.m. Registration begins at 4 p.m.

Due to the recent mild temperatures and lack of snow, the event has moved from Town Square to First Ave., starting at 4th Street.

The hill on First Ave. will reduce the amount of snow necessary to build the Rail Jam venue. Lunceford & Exon Excavation will move snow onto the course on Saturday morning. Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation (SVSEF), along with local volunteers will construct the park.

“We’ve been worried about being able to pull together another Rail Jam this year, but enthusiasm is high, and we’ve found enough snow,” said Mayor Neil Bradshaw. “Last year’s event was a huge success thanks to SVSEF and their volunteers, and to Lunceford Excavation for bringing in the snow. They’re both on board again to help make this another great event.”

The celebration gets underway with music by DJ Locomotive at 4 p.m. and the Rail Jam at 4:30 p.m. Local resident and SVSEF coach Andy Gilbert will MC the event.

Food and beverage will be available from KB’s Burrito and Sawtooth Brewery. Complimentary hot chocolate will also be provided by the city.

The event is proudly presented by the City of Ketchum and Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation and would not be possible without Lunceford & Exon Excavation in locating, delivering and removing the snow.
