New Epidemic Curve (EPI) Data Shows Encouraging Trend

Blaine County COVID-19 EPI Curve

BLAINE COUNTY, Idaho – South Central Public Health District’s recent EPI Curve report shows declining numbers of new COVID-19 cases in Blaine County.

An EPI Curve is a statistical chart used in epidemiology to conceptualize the onset of a disease outbreak. This chart shows that the first positively tested patient in Blaine County first showed signs of symptoms on March 1.

While the numbers are encouraging, vigilance in social distancing and compliance with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare Order must be maintained.

Blaine County residents’ adherence to state and local requirements has been vital in steering the numbers in the right direction.

The current account adds promise to a more rapid recovery, and may enable an earlier transition for Blaine County residents and businesses to return to normal operations.

The report is a snapshot of current conditions, which are being closely monitored and continuously updated by the South Central Public Health District.

The first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Blaine County was on March 13. The graph shows the first symptom onset on March 1, which was later associated with COVID-19.
