Main Street Salutes Warren Miller

KETCHUM, Idaho – The City of Ketchum and its partners invite the community to celebrate the original mountain town’s ski-film icon, Warren Miller. The celebration takes place on Thursday, March 15, on Main Street between Sun Valley Road and Second Street. The Main Street tribute party kicks off the seventh annual Sun Valley Film Festival.

The evening warms up with lively après social time from 7-9 p.m. in the SVFF Café Artois, located in the former Cornerstone Bar & Grill at the corner of Main and Second Streets.

At 9 p.m., the festivities kick into high gear as Main Street Ketchum lights up with DJ Travis Jones, on stage spinning high-energy dance tunes.

The skiing spectacle lasts until midnight with screenings of Warren Miller’s vintage film clips of Sun Valley, compiled by Stellar Media and Warren Miller film editor Kim Schneider, and select shorts from the Homegrown Film Festival. We hope to see a few local Warren Miller ski film ‘stars’ show up to celebrate and be recognized.

Dress up in vintage ski wear to win prizes for the best outfits. Prizes include a sponsor-provided, special edition snowboard and a bicycle. Winners will be determined by the audience during the costume contest beginning at 9:15 p.m.

At 9:30 p.m., an SVFF Freebie showing of Warren Miller’s classic 1961 feature film, Many Moods of Skiing, will be shown in the SVFF Cinetransformer, next to Café Artois. There is limited seating so don’t be late.

The Main Street Salutes Warren Miller event is proudly presented by the City of Ketchum and its partners; Sun Valley Film Festival, Stellar Media, Visit Sun Valley and Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation
