Ketchum Welcomes Community to “A Fair on the Square”

KETCHUM, IDAHO – The City of Ketchum is inviting residents to celebrate past achievements, share what the city is doing, and have a voice in creating its future.

The city is hosting “A Fair on the Square” on Friday, May 25, from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Ketchum Town Square. Food, refreshments, music and activities for kids will be part of the fun.

The event provides an opportunity to recognize some of the urban planning projects that have made Ketchum a better place to live, work and recreate. Idaho Smart Growth, a nonprofit focused on creating healthy and vibrant communities, will present awards to community leaders for developing the Town Square, the Fourth Street Heritage Corridor and a local residential project. Awards will also be presented to other valley projects and initiatives.

“Now is our time to share our vision for the future and seek comment from the public,” said Mayor Neil Bradshaw. “Participation and public input is vital to creating a healthy community and a vibrant town.”

Topics suitable for public input include:

  • Improving downtown to benefit residents and visitors
  • Creating a variety of housing choices for a broad range of residents
  • Becoming a more sustainable community
  • Attracting and keeping the next generation of entrepreneurs, families and leaders
  • Making the best use of the light industrial zone

The city will provide display boards on a variety of topics. The public can learn about each issue, participate in an informal survey and submit comments.
