Special Events
A special event can be considered any organized activity that takes place wholly or partly on public land (including parks, roads, and multimodal pathways) that the public may participate in or are invited to either free of charge or by ticketed entrance. Additionally, an event can be considered any organized activity that takes place on private land that the public may participate in or are invited to either free of charge or by ticketed entrance whose participation will likely affect public lands (as indicated above) or City services (e.g. police, fire, streets, parks).

City Events
"City events" are defined as follows:
  • Takes place on city property or right-of-way;
  • Free and open to the observing public;
  • open to all ages, family friendly;
  • All funds generated come back to the city;
  • Managed by the city directly or through contract for services.

  • Last 2 weeks of December and the first week of January
  • Presidents' Day federal holiday and the entire week
  • July 4th weekend
